Overview: Telangana Food Security Card (FSC)
The Food Security Card (FSC), also referred to as a ration card, is a vital government-issued document under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). It enables eligible households in Telangana to access subsidized food grains, essential commodities, and government welfare programs through fair price shops (FPS).
Citizens who have recently moved to Telangana, started a new household, or lost their FSC/ration card can apply for a new FSC online via the EPDS Telangana or MeeSeva portal.
Why FSC is Important:
Ensures food security for low-income families
Grants access to government welfare schemes
Serves as a government-approved identity and address proof
Enables financial assistance under programs like Rythu Bandhu, pensions, and housing schemes
The Food Security Card (FSC) is issued by the Telangana Government to ensure subsidized food grains reach eligible families. It also serves as a valid ID and proof of residence.
Residents without a valid FSC
Newly married couples starting a household
Families below the poverty line (BPL)
Citizens recently moved to Telangana
